One kg opium seized in Dubai

Dubai, April 28 (IANS/WAM) At least one kg of opium, hidden inside an electronic device packed in an air cargo parcel, has been seized in Dubai, officials said.
The parcel, on a transit flight to Europe, was seized by customs inspectors at the Dubai Cargo Village Tuesday, after they noticed some lumpiness in it. A dog squad was brought in, which found four plastic bag-wrapped pieces of the narcotic.
The owner of the cargo has been arrested and charged with narcotics possession and trafficking.
