Hundreds of villagers in Bihar badly affected by devastating storms stormed a block office today and angrily protested against lack of govenrment aid.

Officials said the angry protesters stormed Raniganj block office in eastern Bihar’s Araria district and protested against delay in distribution of aid.

An official report has said storms have killed 90 people and around 10,000 cattle in five eastern Bihar districts.

The storms have also damaged 100,000 houses and destroyed standing crops in thousands of acres of lands.

But the authorities said they were reaching aid on large-scale.

“So far, we have given monetary compensation to all the victims families and are now distributing grains among them”, Bihar’s disaster managment principal secretary Vyasji said today.
