PHILADELPHIA — A chain-reaction crash involving a car and at least three horse-drawn carriages has seriously injured three people in Philadelphia’s historic district.

The car pushed one carriage on a curb and a second carriage was overturned Monday morning near Independence Hall.

Police say two carriage drivers were taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition. The driver of the car was also taken to a hospital in serious condition.

No horses were injured in the crash.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing.
