Pilot unharmed in Idaho plane crash
BURLEY, Idaho — An Oregon man survived a plane crash in Idaho’s Cottrell Mountains, then was rescued by farmers who came to his aid in a tractor, guided by the light from his laptop computer screen.
The Twin Falls Times-News reports that Thaddeus Bryce Fickel of Hermiston, Ore., crashed after his single-engine Cessna encountered turbulence Wednesday evening.
Two farmers drove a tractor to the top of a ridge and brought the 44-year-old Fickel down the mountain about four hours later. He was cold but unharmed.
