NEW DELHI - Six people, including three call girls, were arrested in north Delhi, police said Thursday.

“We came to know that a man, along with some women, was alluring people at a public place for indulging in prostitution in a Honda City Car on Wednesday,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Chhaya Sharma said.

A decoy customer was then sent to strike a deal, leading to the arrest of Vikas Gupta, 28, two women pimps and three call girls near Rohini area.

Vikas and his associates used to procure girls from Mumbai on a monthly contract of Rs.1 lakh each, Sharma said.

Meena (name changed), working as a prostitute in Mumbai, came in contact with Vikas, and decided to work in Delhi. She also brought her friend Niharika (name changed) from Hoogli, West Bengal.

“The pimps used to allure businessmen, property dealers and traders of Rohini, Uttam Nagar and Vikaspuri and charge Rs.5,000 for each deal. They also used to provide accommodation and liquor at their houses by charging an extra of Rs.2,000,” said Sharma.

Vikas, a school dropout, earlier worked in a factory in Badli Industrial Area and a tent house in Paharganj.
