ISLAMABAD - A barber in Pakistan’s Punjab province was tonsured, his eyebrows and moustache shaved and he was paraded on a donkey - all because he refused to visit a landlord to trim his hair.

The incident took place in Bhowana town where Saifullah, the barber, was told to visit a landlord’s residence for a haircut. He refused.

Making a visit to their home would have meant I would lose an entire days business, Express Tribune quoted Saifullah as saying.

He told the landlord’s men to tell him to visit his salon.

Soon thereafter, he was abducted. His head, eyebrows, moustache and beard were shaved and he was paraded through the streets on a donkey.

The media report said that the men ridiculed Saifullah and told him to bark like a dog while they tied a chain and collar around his neck.
