Biker crushed to death by truck

NEW DELHI - A motor-cycle rider was crushed to death and an autorickshaw driver injured by a speeding truck on Shahdara flyover in east Delhi, police said Saturday. The truck driver has been arrested.

Raj Kumar, 32, a resident of Jahangirpuri who worked in a private company, was killed and autorickshaw driver Pradeep was injured when the incident took place around 9 p.m. Friday.

“Truck driver Raman Kumar was apprehended,” a police officer said.

Raj Kumar was on his way home when the speeding truck coming from the opposite direction veered into a road divider and crossed on to the other carriageway, hitting the victims, police said.

The two victims were rushed to hospital where Raj Kumar was declared dead. Pradeep was still recuperating, police said.
