Two gangsters held in Punjab

GURDASPUR - Two gangsters, wanted in various cases of murder and vehicle thefts, have been arrested in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, police said Saturday.
Kulwinder Singh and Harjinder Singh of the notorious Vijay Topi gang were arrested late Friday.
“On the basis of revelations by gang members arrested earlier, we laid a trap and nabbed these accused. We also recovered over Rs.90,000 cash and a stolen car from their possession,” district police chief Varinderpal Singh told IANS.
“There are around 15 members in this gang and eight of them are still at large. Nearly 50 cases of heinous crimes, including murders, are registered against them in Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. We have got some clues and hope to arrest the absconding gangsters in the coming days,” he said.
POlice in Gurdaspur Dec 3 gunned down two members of the gang in Mohali district. Five members, including kingpin Vijay Topi, were arrested then.
Gurdaspur is about 250 km from Chandigarh.
