Dacoit killed after robbery near Pune

PUNE - A dacoit was killed while four of his accomplices escaped with Rs.70,000 that they robbed from two petrol pumps in Pune’s Shirur village, police said Wednesday.

“Five dacoits came in a car and looted two petrol pumps located close to each other. Security guard of one of the petrol pumps fired at the dacoits, killing one,” police inspector Vishnu Pawar said.

“The other dacoits abandoned the car and escaped from the spot. We are in the process of identifying the dead dacoit,” he said.

Pawar said the dacoits stole cash of Rs.70,000 from the petrol pumps.
