CHANDIGARH - A local court here Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to a property dealer convicted of plotting the killing of his wife in 2008.
According to police, Baljinder Singh alias Talla, hatched the conspiracy with his friend Ashok Kumar and employee Vijay Pal to kill his wife Anuradha May 17, 2008, at Sector 38 (west) here.
Besides sending Baljinder Singh to jail, Additional Sessions Judge Gian Chand Gupta also slapped a fine of Rs.5,000 on him.
The court also awarded life imprisonment to Ashok Kumar and Vijay Pal for murdering Anuradha, a mother of two.
Police said she was killed as her husband was having an extra-marital affair with a city-based model Noor Kataria.
It was a deep-rooted conspiracy knitted by Baljinder with Vijay and Ashok. Vijay and Ashok robbed the house of Baljinder and a complaint was also lodged to misguide the police. In fact, the motive behind it was to get rid of Anuradha as Baljinder wanted to marry Noor Kataria, the court said.
