CHENNAI - The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Wednesday lodged a complaint with the city police against former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi to probe irregularities pertaining to the T20 cricket event.

BCCI Secretary N.Srinivasan lodged the complaint against Modi with Chennai Police Commissioner T.Rajendra, citing misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs.470 crore (around $105 million).

Srinivasan said the complaint has been lodged based on a decision taken by the BCCI.

The complaint has been lodged several months after the IPL scam broke out.

The contracts of Rajasthan Royals and King’s XI Punjab IPL teams were terminated Sunday “for violation of the franchise agreement”.
