Body recovered after four months

JAMMU - After more than four months, Navy divers Friday recovered the body of a local medical college student from Mansar lake, about 50 km north of Jammu, unravelling the mystery surrounding his disappearance.

Police said the body of Zuhaid Rizvi, a student of Acharya Shri Chandra College of Medical Sciences, was recovered by the Navy divers who were pressed into service about a week ago after all efforts to trace the student had failed.

Rizvi, who hailed from Srinagar, went missing May 14. His parents and friends in Kashmir suspected that he might have been abducted or killed. However, local residents had been repeatedly telling the police that they had seen the boy drowning in the lake.
