Tremors felt in Punjab, Haryana

CHANDIGARH - Mild tremors were felt in most parts of Punjab and Haryana in the early hours of Saturday, officials said here. However, no loss of life or damage to property was reported.
“Earthquake tremors were felt at 12.51 a.m. and they lasted for 55 to 59 seconds. They were of moderate intensity and so far no damage to property or life has been reported,” an official of the meteorological department told IANS.
“An earthquake with its epicentre hit the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, measuring 6.5 on the Richter Scale. There is a possibility that its tremors were felt in several parts of other north Indian states as well,” he said.
