Youth thrashed for brushing past cop’s wife

GHAZIABAD - A young man was allegedly thrashed in a police station after his motorcycle accidentally brushed against the wife and daughter of a police officer here.
The victim’s father, Avdhesh Kumar Singh, a retired railway employee, alleged that his son was beaten by policemen for a minor fault after his motorcycle brushed against the inspector’s wife near the DAV crossing in Pratap Vihar Thursday evening. Angered over the incident, the wife called the police who took him to the Vijay Nagar police station.
The youth was booked under Section 151 (apprehension of breach of peace) and was granted bail on furnishing two bonds of Rs.100,000 each.
The police alleged that the youth had tried to outrage the modesty of the woman.
Superintendent of Police Avdhesh Kumar Vijaita said the police was taking a lenient so as not to affect his future.
