Prajapati killing witness injured in attack

JAIPUR - Azam Khan, who had given evidence in the killing of Tulsiram Prajapati - an eyewitness to the alleged staged killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh - was injured after he was shot at by unknown assailants in Rajasthan’s Udaipur city Tuesday, police said. He has been hospitalised and his condition is stable.
“Unknown assailants on motorcycles shot at Khan at Udaysagar area at around 7 p.m. Khan sustained injuries in his right palm. He has been hospitalised and his condition is stable,” Udaipur’s Superintendent of Police Sanjib Kumar Narzari told IANS over the phone.
The assailants fled after the attack, he said. Udaysagar is about 10 km from the city.
Narzari said police had set up barricades and checkposts in an around Udaipur to nab the assailants. However, no arrests had been made yet.
