Man behind hoax call arrested

NEW DELHI - The Delhi Police Tuesday arrested a person for making a hoax call last month informing them of a bomb on the Andhra Pradesh Express train.

The accused, identified as Hemchandra Jha, made the hoax call after a quarrel with his girl friend who was leaving New Delhi by the train.

Jha had made a call to the police Aug 18 saying that 3-4 people after alighting from the train at New Delhi Railway Station at gate number 4 were discussing that they have done their job and have planted a bomb on the AP Express.

“An enquiry was conducted regarding the information. Efforts were made to trace the caller. However, no bomb was found on the train and it was found to be a hoax call,” said the police.

Call details of the mobile number 9716371141 was obtained and studied. “The call details of the number and other numbers on which the call was made was further studied. It was found that the call was made from Nizamuddin railway station and the accused was a resident of Ganga Vihar in North Delhi,” said the police.
