NEW DELHI - A team of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders will Thursday visit low-lying areas in the capital which are witnessing a flood-like situation due to rise in the water level of Yamuna river.
Announcing this, Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta told reporters that thousands of people were rendered homeless because of the situation. He asked the Delhi government to provide immediate relief to those affected.
Gupta criticised the government for not making proper arrangements in the wake of the flood-like situation.
Water level in the Yamuna has been flowing above the danger mark of 204.83 metres for the past five days, following which people from the low-lying areas have been evacuated and shifted to camps set up by the government.
