5 hurt when in San Francisco bus stop crash
SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco police say a driver lost control of her car and crashed into a group of people waiting for a bus, injuring five.
Fire Department spokeswoman Lt. Mindy Talmadge says four of the victims were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Talmadge says a 24-year-old woman driving a Ford SUV told authorities that she lost steering power as she came down a hill in the city’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The driver veered toward an apartment building where people were seeking shade from the sun while waiting for the bus.
Police say the woman remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
