“The trio was arrested on charges of running a cricket betting racket. We have initiated an investigation into the matter to nab the other members of the gang,” District Superintendent of Police Rahul Srivastav said.
The three have been identified as Rajkumar Agarwal of Lake Town, Narayan Chaudhury of Howrah district and Ram Lakshman Prasad of Bihar. They were presented in the Barasat court and remanded to seven days’ police custody.
During the raid in the housing apartment, eight cellphones, two calculators, four landline phones, one colour TV and several other documents were recovered. The flat has been sealed, police said.
