BHOPAL - Four bandits were killed in a gunfight with police in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district Sunday, a senior officer said.

Acting on a tip-off, a 30-member police team circled members of the dreaded Banjara gang in a forested area and sprayed them with bullets, killing four members, included the leader, Raju Banjara.

“All the four Banjara gang members were dreaded bandits and were carrying rewards of up to Rs.10,000 on their capture,” Superintendent of Police, Bhind, Chanchal Shekhar told IANS.

“They operated in Bhind and Gwalior districts of Madhya Pradesh besides pockets in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh,” he told IANS over the phone.

Police recovered four guns and 65 live cartridges from the slain bandits.
