MOSCOW - Russian investigators gave Poland 11 volumes of documents from their probe into the April 10 plane crash in Smolensk, Russia, that killed president Lech Kaczynski and 95 others.
The materials include witness testimony, photos from the scene of the accident and descriptions of personal objects of victims found at the crash site.
Russia and Poland are cooperating on two separate investigations into the crash that killed Kaczynski and dozens of other politicians and military brass.
Russia will give Poland documents on the autopsies of the victims in the next batch of volumes, said Krzysztof Parulski, Poland’s chief military prosecutor.
Russian officials said the next batch of materials may be handed over to Poland within a month.
The officials added that they did not give Poland documents on the autopsies because Russia was still conducting genetic tests on DNA found in the cockpit to determine who had been inside it.
