22 killed in Himachal road accident

SHIMLA - At least 22 people were killed in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district when the truck they were travelling in fell into a gorge Wednesday evening, police said.

The victims were on their way to their village after attending a party when their truck fell into a gorge near Mandi town. Twenty-two people died on the spot, Assistant Superintendent of Police Hera Singh Thakur told IANS over telephone.

The total number of people travelling in the truck is yet to be ascertained as rescue workers have not reached the spot, he added.
