Sex racket busted, 14 arrested

MATHURA - An inter-state sex racket has been busted in this Uttar Pradesh district with the arrest of 14 people, including six girls, from two hotels and a state-owned tourist resort, police said Saturday.
On a specific information, police teams early Saturday raided the two hotels and the Kosi Tourist Complex, owned by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), in the Kosikalan area and arrested 14 people.
“The girls, who have been arrested during the raids are from different states, including Bihar and West Bengal,” police Inspector Arun Kumar told reporters in the town, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“Preliminary investigations reveal all those arrested are involved in an inter-state sex racket, which is operated mainly from Delhi and Noida. We are on the look out for some of the employees of the tourist complex who were also involved in the racket,” he added.
According to police, some of those arrested are enrolled with educational institutions in Noida or the National Capital Region (NCR).
