PATNA - Over three dozen armed robbers looted and assaulted the passengers of a train in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district early Friday, police said.

The armed men looted cash and valuables from nearly a dozen passengers of two air-conditioned bogies of Howrah-Delhi Lal Quila Express between Bansipur and Bhulai railway stations, about 150 km from here.

More than a dozen passengers were injured when they resisted the robbers.

Angry passengers later staged a protest at Kiul railway station.

Railway Police lodged a case in this connection.

In the last six months, over a dozen train robberies have been reported across the state.
