India conveys distress over Pakistan floods

NEW DELHI - India Wednesday conveyed its distress to Pakistan over deaths and devastations caused by floods in that country.
In a letter to his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna conveyed sincere condolences of the government and the people of India on the loss of lives due to the widespread floods in Pakistan, the external affairs ministry said here.
In his letter, Krishna said that he is distressed by the devastation caused by the natural calamity.
In the worst floods to hit Pakistan in the last 80 years, around 1,400 people have died and three million have been affected.
