JHAJJAR - The Delhi Police Wednesday arrested an inspector of Haryana’s traffic police for taking a bribe of Rs.14,000, an officer said.
According to the police, the accused was identified as Sat Narain Singh and he was caught red handed by a special team of Delhi police while accepting Rs.14,000 from a transporter near Ghevra turn, at the border of Delhi and Haryana, around 40 km from here.
“The SHO (Station House Officer) of Bahadurgarh traffic police has been arrested by the Delhi police. He has been booked under various sections. We have placed him under suspension and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him,” said Sourabh Singh, superintendent of police (Jhajjar).
Trilok Singh, the transporter, had filed a complaint with the anti-corruption branch of Delhi police alleging that Sat Narain Singh was demanding bribe for letting his buses ply in Haryana.
Following this, a special team of Delhi police Wednesday laid a trap, caught the police officer red-handed and arrested him.
