CHANDIGARH - A man Monday alleged that he was abducted by four youth from outside the Punjab and Haryana High Court and was pushed into a car but jumped out of the vehicle to escape, police said, expressing doubts over his claim.
According to the police, Ajit Singh, a resident of Ambala town in Haryana, registered a complaint that four unknown miscreants abducted him from outside the high court.
“He said that somehow he managed to open the door of the car and jumped out of it near Sector 17,” said Mahabir Singh, the investigation officer of the case.
“We have recorded his statement and sent him for a medical examination. It is quite unusual that there were no eye-witnesses and he did not receive any major injury despite jumping from a fast moving car.”
Ajit said that he had come to the high court to submit a writ petition on an old corruption case.
