Drunk driving: Brash youngster held for ramming car into truck

NEW DELHI - A youth suspected of driving while drunk has been arrested for ramming his speeding car into a truck in south Delhi, police said Sunday.

Police identified the arrested driver as Nipun Rastogi. He was travelling with three women, who along with him appeared to be in an inebriated state, police said.

“The speeding Volkswagen car hit a truck, which was clearing the debris on Andrews Gunj road Saturday night. After hitting the car, the four engaged in a quarrel and used abusive language with the police officers present at the spot,” an officer told IANS.

“Following the incident, a woman in the car picked up a quarrel with the police officers, threatened them and damaged the camera of a TV crew which was on the spot to film the incident,” the officer added.
