Brash youngsters ram car into truck in capital

NEW DELHI - Four youngsters, including three girls, travelling in a speeding Volkswagen hit a truck clearing debris in south Delhi Sunday morning. On being accosted by policemen, they quarrelled with them and also abused a TV camera crew, police said.
“The speeding car hit a truck, which was clearing the debris on Andrews Gunj road. After hitting the car, the four engaged in a quarrel and used abusive language with the police officers present at the spot,” a police officer told IANS.
According to the police, the three girls abused and even tried to hit the camera crew present at the spot when they tried to film the incident.

its a shame how indian media can base their so-called news on incomplete and speculated information. i happened to be a bystander to the entire incident and witnessed the plight of these helpless youngsters who were, what it looked like, being mauled and harrased by these reporters who turned up within the first 5 minutes of the accident. Its absolutely shocking how the video clip has been manipulated by avoiding all the nasty and obscene comments made by the reporter to the girl holding centrestage. the need of the moment was to assist those injured and bleeding and to provide medical attention. the youths were merely attempting to avoid unecessary crowding around the hurt and to keep the reporters from making the situation more chaotic than it already was. it was clearly evident that none of the youths were under the influence of alcohol as falsely accused. all friends worked co-operatively and in unison to meet the first aid requirements of those injured by sending them off to the hospital in the scorpio. though the police was trying to stabilise the situation to some extent, i’m sorry to say but the media behaved in the most brash, uncouth and disrespectful manner. this is not news; this is a lame attempt to create one. also it wasnt 2 girls and 3 boys in the rammed car but 2 girls and 2 boys, the rest were friends following behind them among which was the girl involved in the argument with the cops. for future reference, get your facts right! |
