NEW DELHI - Four youths robbed a marble shop owner at gunpoint in north Delhi and decamped with Rs.3.5 lakh apart from a chain and two gold rings the victim was wearing, police said Wednesday.
Vinod Mittal, the 35-year-old owner of a marble shop in Rohini, was robbed at 9.30 p.m. Tuesday.
“A sum of Rs.3.5 lakh along with two gold rings and a chain were taken away,” said a police officer. He, however, added Mittal had kept his shop open beyond the closing time of 8 p.m.
Mittal said: “Four youths in their early 20s came into my shop wearing helmets. Initially they greeted me but seeing me alone, three of them took out revolvers and the fourth had a knife. They asked me to give whatever I had in cash but not happy with what they got, they forced me to remove my rings and the chain also.”
Police said a case has been registered and a hunt was on for the four men.
