AHMEDABAD - Former deputy superintendent of police N.K. Amin’s lawyer Monday moved the CBI court here for the retired cop to turn approver in the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a staged shootout.

Amin is an accused in the fake shootout case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court is also hearing a plea by the probe agency to question former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, who is charged with alleged involvement in Sheikh’s killing, in judicial custody.

Shah was sent to judicial custody by the court Sunday for 14 days after he surrendered before it.
