Firestick Plant Makes Rick Warren Injured

LAKE FOREST (GaeaTimes.com)- Well known evangelical preacher and pastor Rick Warren who is famous for his book Purpose Driven Life recently suffered from a freak accident while he was gardening. The 56 year old pastor was gardening on Monday when the accident occurred which resulted in loss of eyesight, albeit temporarily. Some amount of toxic extract from the fire stick trees in his garden got into his eyes and this led to the fiasco. The pastor wore a glove when he was working. The pastor made the mistake of rubbing his brows with his hand after he put away the gloves. He had little idea of the repercussions.

Immediately after the pastor rubbed his brows with his hands he could feel a burning sensation in his eyes. The pain was excruciating for him and he could not see anything. Thereafter he was shifted to Mission Viejo’s Mission Hospital for treatment. The doctors covered his eyes with bandage. He could not see for more than 24 hours after that incident. The sap secreted by the Firestick plant is poisonous for the human eye and has chemicals that can inflict damage. The pastor however is recuperating well and he even tweeted to his friends to let them know that his eyesight is improving.

The damage caused by the Firestick plant sap to the pastor had left him with temporary loss of vision but he will not be blind. Before he gets released the doctors may perform certain tests on his eyes to ensure that all is well. His family and friends are a relieved lot now.
