Officials: 2 bodies in Reno home destroyed by fire
RENO, Nev. — Authorities say the bodies of two people have been found in the rubble of an upscale home that burned and partially collapsed after sheriff’s deputies tried to serve an eviction notice.
The Washoe County sheriff’s office says a SWAT team used a robot to locate the two bodies in the house in Reno. The identities of the dead people haven’t been made public.
A sheriff’s spokesman had said investigators believed at least one man was in the home when deputies came under gunfire Tuesday at the house in a gated community near a golf course.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots or small explosions as the fire grew in intensity and flames soared 50 feet into the air.
