NEW DELHI - Congress president Sonia Gandhi Monday expressed “her deep grief and anguish” over the train tragedy in West Bengal in which at least 60 people were killed.

“While conveying her deep condolences to the bereaved families, she also wished speedy recovery for the injured,” said an All India Congress Committee (AICC) statement.

About 60 people were killed and 150 injured after the speeding Sealdah-bound Uttar Banga Express rammed into three coaches of the stationary Bhagalpur-Ranchi Vananchal Express at Sainthia station in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, about 190 km from Kolkata, early Monday.
