Large water main break floods Philly streets
PHILADELPHIA — Crews have begun cleaning up after a large water main break flooded streets near Temple University in North Philadelphia.
The rising water forced some evacuations when officials reported the 30-inch water main broke around 6 a.m. Friday. Water rose over the hoods of parked cars and approached their roofs, sending residents scurrying to move their vehicles.
The water receded after crews shut off the valves but a city intersection was left a muddy mess.
