NEW DELHI - A Delhi Jal Board (DJB) employee, accused of shooting a man and injuring two others when denied entry to a brothel in the national capital, will be produced in court Monday, Delhi Police said.

Inebriated Kanta Prasad tried to enter the brothel on G.B. Road Sunday to meet his sister-in-law but was denied entry and thrashed.

He opened fire injuring three people, one of whom later died at the hospital. The accused was also hit by a bullet in his stomach.

According to police, Prasad fired from his licensed revolver.

“We are still investigating the matter and will get in touch with the district magistrate of Bulandshahr (in Uttar Pradesh) in relation with the weapon licence issued to Prasad,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaspal Singh.

Singh said the accused and the two injured men are stable and Prasad will be produced in court.
