Gold ornament stolen from Jain temple

NEW DELHI - A gold ornament placed over a statue of a deity in a Jain temple in east Delhi was stolen Sunday, police said.

The temple in Jyoti Nagar had two guards posted at the premises. The gold ornament is said to be worth around Rs.1 lakh.

“We feel the theft could have occurred around 7 to 7.30 p.m. We are investigating the matter and looking at all the angles,” a senior police official told IANS.
