NEW DELHI - The Delhi Police Friday approached a court seeking a warrant to take custody of the three men arrested in Ghaziabad on charges of killing a couple and another woman in the capital.

“We have sought a production warrant. After getting the court orders, we will approach the Uttar Pradesh Police,” Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told IANS.

The three - Mandeep Nagar, Ankit Chaudhary and Nakul Khari - were Thursday arrested in Garhmukteswar area, about 90 km from here, in the adjoining district of Ghaziabad.

They are residents of Wazirpur village in Ashok Vihar in Delhi. They were on the run after the triple murder June 20 in Ashok Vihar.

According to police, the accused have confessed to killing Monica, her husband Kuldeep and Monica’s cousin Shobha in what police say were “honour killings”.

Monica and Kuldeep belonged to different castes and their families were against their marriage. Shobha had allegedly helped her sister Khushbu, a model, to elope with a man from another caste.
