Bogota, June 24 (IANS/EFE) Bodies of 54 people killed in Colombian coal mine blast last week have been recovered, sources in Colombia’s Geology and Mining Institute said Wednesday.

Around 20 more bodies are still trapped inside the San Fernando mine in northwestern town of Amaga, the sources said.

The explosion, apparently due to an accumulation of gas, occurred June 16, when the miners were working in a tunnel at the depth of 2,600 metre.
