Three held for gang-rape of minor in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD - Three men were arrested here Tuesday for raping a 17-year-old girl, police said.

The incident occurred when the girl was returning home after seeing a movie at the Silver City multiplex here. While she was waiting for a rickshaw, a man named Anil Yadav offered her a lift in his car. Since she knew he belonged to her neighbourhood she accepted his offer, police said.

There were three other men in the car. She occupied the rear seat. Anil Yadav took the car to an abandoned area and all the four men raped the girl. After that they abandoned her near her neighbourhood and fled.

“The victim somehow reached her house and told her father about the incident. Her father took her to the Vijay Nagar police station Monday night. The girl was medically examined and three of the four accused were arrested,” Superintendent of Police A.K. Vijeta said.

The accused who were arrested were identified as Anil Yadav, Naresh Yadav and Pravesh Goswami. The fourth accused Babu is absconding.
