SHIMLA - A couple from Chhattisgarh allegedly committed suicide at a hotel in the Himachal Pradesh capital here. Police Monday said the man was wanted in a murder case.
“The couple was found unconscious in a hotel in the Lakkar Bazaar area of the city. They were taken to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, where the man was declared brought dead. The woman died this (Monday) morning,” Superintendent of Police R.M. Sharma told IANS.
He said the couple — Sudheesh Kumar Singh, 30, and Devi Singh, 32 — died by consuming some poisonous substance.
“As per the hotel records, they checked in June 19 at around 3 p.m. They had come here from Manali,” Police officer Shakuntala Sharma said.
She said a suicide note, probably written by Sudheesh, was also recovered from the hotel.
“Initial investigation reveals that the man (Sudheesh) was wanted in some murder case in Chhattisgarh,” the officer said.
