Six killed in Himachal accident

SHIMLA - Six people were killed when an overcrowded vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district, police said Wednesday.
“Fourteen people were travelling in the Tata Sumo when it met with the accident on Tuesday night. The victims were returning from a religious fair at Kamrunath,” Superintendent of Police S.M. Agnihotri told IANS on telephone from Mandi town.
The accident occurred some 25 km from Mandi on the Pandoh-Gohar road. Four people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to injuries at the Mandi district hospital.
“Eight injured have been admitted to the district hospital at Mandi. The identities of the victims are yet to be ascertained,” he added.
