US national dies in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA - A US national who was touring Himachal Pradesh on cycle died in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul and Spiti district Sunday, police said Monday.

“Cyclist J. Edward, 57, died due to cardiac arrest when he was on his way from Chhattru to Koksar yesterday (Sunday),” Superintendent of Police S.R. Rana told IANS on telephone from Keylong.

He said the body of the cyclist was recovered Monday and the US embassy in Delhi was informed.

“The autopsy confirmed that Edward died due to heart failure,” he said.

Edward was touring the state along with another US national Peter Michael.

Lahaul and Spiti attracts thousands of adventure lovers every year.
