At least 6 children killed in Ark. flash floods
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — At least six children age 7 years old and younger are among the 17 people confirmed killed in devastating flash floods that swept through a popular Arkansas campground.
Gov. Mike Beebe’s office on Saturday released the identities of 15 of the 17 people who are known to have been killed in the pre-dawn Friday floods at the Albert Pike Recreation Area near Langley.
Five victims, including three children, were from Gloster, La. Three other victims were from Louisiana and six others were from Texas. Only one of the 15 was from Arkansas.
Search and rescue crews have been scouring the wilderness in and around the park for survivors and bodies.
