Cop’s son held six months after jumping parole

NEW DELHI - An assistant sub-inspector’s son who jumped parole six months back was arrested from north Delhi, police said Friday.

Manjeet, 22, was arrested Saturday from Mangolpuri area. He jumped his parole given in January.

“His father is an assistant sub-inspector with the Special Branch of Delhi Police. He belongs to a well off family. He was a bouncer before, later he got into bad company,” a police official said.

“He was arrested on charges of robbery and was out on a week’s parole to attend his sister’s wedding. One of his accomplices is still in jail,” the official said.

According to police, Manjeet has also been declared a proclaimed offender by a city court.
