NEW DELHI - Two people have been arrested for allegedly murdering a man due to business rivalry, police said Thursday.

According to police, accused Rakesh, 20, and Vinod, 20, strangled to death Vikas, an employee in a cable operator’s office in Narela in north Delhi.

“Initially, we were of the view that it was a case of asphyxia as when we reached the spot, the office was on fire. However, the post mortem report said that the cause of death was asphyxia by strangulation,” a police officer.

“We are trying to track third accused Monu,” police added.

According to police, Monu was a partner in the cable operator business with Kaptan and Rajeev.

“Monu was ousted from business without any valid reason. This led to him planning to ruin their (Kaptan and Rajeev) business,” the official.

Monu conspired to kill Vikas as the former wanted to set the office on fire but knew the latter will not allow them to do it.

“First, they strangulated Vikas with the help of cable wire and then to mislead the police, they covered him with quilt and plastic articles and set him on fire so that it looked like an accident,” police added.
