Building collapses due to heavy rain in Himachal

SHIMLA - A multi-storeyed newly-constructed building in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district collapsed Tuesday following heavy rains, an official said. However, there was no loss of life as nobody was inside.
“A four-storeyed building located near Barog on the outskirts of Solan town collapsed this (Tuesday) evening due to heavy downpour,” Superintendent of Police V.K. Dhawan told IANS over phone.
He said rescue workers reached the spot and were helping the local people in removing the debris.
He ruled out the possibility of any person being trapped inside the building.
Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing heavy rains since Monday night.
