Wedding party bus crashes in Indianapolis; 1 dead
INDIANAPOLIS — Police say one man is dead and at least 14 people have been injured after a shuttle bus carrying a wedding party was knocked on its side after colliding with a sport utility vehicle in downtown Indianapolis.
Lt. Jeff Duhamell said the crash Saturday afternoon killed 29-year-old James Douglas. Duhamell said none of the people who were hurt had life-threatening injuries.
Spokeswoman Holly Vonderheit says the bride and groom were among seven people taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment. She says they later were married in a hospital conference room.
Wishard Hospital spokesman Todd Harper says seven others were taken to that hospital.
Police say one of the vehicles apparently ran a red light, causing the crash.
