Kindergartner killed in Ohio school bus accident
DRESDEN, Ohio — Authorities say a school bus carrying seven children went off an Ohio highway, hit a utility pole and flipped onto its roof, killing a kindergartner.
Authorities say 6-year-old Kasey King, of Frazeysburg, was killed in Wednesday morning’s crash near Dresden, Ohio.
The accident also seriously injured the driver, 47-year-old Carol Oler. Six other students had minor injuries. The cause is under investigation.
The bus was on its way to Nashport Elementary School, about 45 miles east of Columbus.
Mark Neal, superintendent at the Tri-Valley school district, called the accident a terrible tragedy for the community.
The State Highway Patrol says the last crash in Ohio that killed a child school bus passenger was 22 years ago.
