Wanted criminal from Rajasthan held in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A criminal from Rajasthan, who was involved in cases of attempt to murder, robbery and extortion was arrested here, police said Tuesday.

Vishal Chaudhary, 27, was arrested from Dwarka Sunday, police said.

“We received information that the accused had been visiting Dwarka frequently, and a trap was laid and he was apprehended,” a senior police officer said.

According to police, Chaudhary is a known criminal hailing from Pratap Nagar in Rajasthan. A locally made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

“He was also booked under the National Security Act (NSA) in 2008. He was involved in cases of attempt to murder, robbery, extortion, rioting. He had come to Dwarka to extort money from real estate dealers,” the officer added.
